Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and grew up within Malibu, California. Salenger loved performing for her family and close friends when she was a child. The mother of her child took her to her first acting class when she was 8 years old. In the John Huston-directed feature Annie, she played an unimportant role, in which she was called a "singing and dance orphan". Salenger was featured in several TV commercials. Salenger had her first leading role as a lead actress in The Journey of Natty Gann, which was a Disney film starring John Cusack with Ray Wise. It was the first US film to receive the Gold Award at the Moscow Film Festival. In addition, she was awarded "Best actress in Drama" in the Youth in Film Awards, in recognition of her role as the fun-loving Natty. In her early 20s, she starred in another four films, one of which was A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. Then she moved to Harvard for the purpose of continuing her studies.
